About our product quality warranty
Details of Nitori quality assurance
If our products break down or develop trouble while being used in the conformity with the users' manual within the warranty period, we will have them repaired free of charge. Irreparable items, including small interior articles, can be returned for replacement.
Warranty system
Products covered by the system
All products sold by Nitori are covered by the system, with the exception of the following:
- Toilet products
- Consumables, including felt, cleaning products, light bulbs and batteries
- Made-to-order products
Warranty period
The warranty period begins from the date the customer receives the product. The period is indicated in the warranty period box on the product description or on the warranty certificate. The period is one year, unless otherwise indicated.
Definition of the hand-over date
The delivery date is the day stated in the delivery description. If the delivery date changes, please make a note of it on the delivery description. When you ask to change the delivery date, Nitori will confirm the new date. The hand-over date of small interior products and other products purchased in our stores is the date of sale indicated on your cash register receipt.
1. When a Nitori product mis-performs or fails under use in compliance with the user’s manual during the warranty period, we will repair it free of charge, or give you a refund for the product or replace it, whichever we judge to be appropriate. Please ask the staff of the store where you make your purchase to give you a warranty and receipt.
2. In the following cases, we’ll charge for repairs, even during the warranty period.
- a Malfunction or damage caused by transporting, moving or dropping the product after its hand-over.
- b Malfunction or damage caused by failure to comply with precautionary items in the user’s manual, or by using the product in a way that exceeds its specifications
- c Malfunction or damage caused by fire, salt damage, abnormal voltage, earthquake, lightning, wind or water damage, or other natural disaster
- d Malfunction or damage caused by repair work or modification by any company other than Nitori
- e Failure to show the warranty certificate
- f Malfunction or damage caused by using the product with a power source or bulb other than those specified
- g Deterioration or scratching of material applied to the surface, painted coatings or other exterior parts; alteration of exterior wood
h Exceptions stipulated by Nitori
3. Light bulbs and batteries are not covered by the warranty.
4. Motors (in electric fans, electric beds, etc.) are under warrant for one year.
5. We may use replacement parts with a different external appearance when repairing or exchanging a product.
6. We may ask the customer to bear transportation and associated costs.
7. The warranty is valid only within Japan.
8. Unless otherwise specified, the warranty is valid only when the product has been used within the home.
9. The warranty period of a product by the manufacturer is the longer of two periods: the manufacturer’s warranty period, or the Nitori warranty period.
Nitori promises to perform repairs free of charge during the warranty period and under the conditions clearly stipulated on the product description which you will receive with each product you purchase. This warranty does not restrict the rights of our customers under the law.
